This listing is for an Ibanez S420 with upgraded RailHammer HyperVintage humbuckers and a full Reloved Guitars set up (including precision fret levelling and Tusq nut). It is a beautifully light instrument with a rock-solid Edge tremolo system that rewards careful set up with incredible tuning stability.
As with any such tremolo system you have to get the balance point right AND you have to have fully stretched out your strings and pre-set your micro tuners before tightening down the locking caps at the nut end. You can dive-bomb this thing non-stop without it having any adverse effect on the tuning.
This was a long-time valued customer’s guitar; he asked me to replace the Ibanez stock pickups with the RailHammers in addition to setting it up for him. It came back to me shortly before he passed away last year. I love the guitar – but I have so many others to play that I can’t justify keeping it in a case. A guitar like this deserves to be played daily by someone who can get the most out of it.
The balance on this guitar is just about spot on. I had a very slim natural mahogany S series several years ago which I loved but which had some neck dive that I couldn’t live with. Thankfully this S420 put got the balance right.
